It is officially fashion week season of the year across the globe and with it being Fashion Week season, we are digging into the intricate work that goes behind the scenes of producing some of the industry’s biggest fashion shows every year.
The world of fashion event production is kind of like the quiet luxury of the event production space where the stage design, event production and management is done so tactfully and seamlessly that it goes unnoticed to the untrained eye. Basically, if the event producers are doing their job, they are adding beautiful, tech forward, original ideas to stages that enhance and elevate the fashion designers’ work without taking away from the main act.
From Alexander McQueen’s SS99 show to the more recent Coperni SS2023 show, when looking at some of the most iconic fashion moments that disrupted the fashion industry, part of the main reason why they made such statements was due to the genius planning of fashion event production companies.

1. Louis Vuitton Women’s Spring – Summer 2024 Show: Imagining the inside of a hot-air balloon, Louis Vuitton’s SS24 runway transformed a historical building on Avenue des Champs-Élysées into a whimsical, enchanting location. Production designer James Chinlund collaborated with Penique Productions, draping recyclable orange and yellow materials to capture the essence of a hot air balloon. The choice of colors and materials added a tactile dimension, engaging the audience’s senses beyond visual appeal.

2. Courrèges Spring – Summer 2023 Show: Di Felice’s quest for fluidity in the spring collection was mirrored in the set design. In a white studio, a circle of sand descended from the ceiling, creating a mesmerizing, Burning Man-inspired atmosphere. Models, embodying morning-after-a-beach-rave vibes, carried their slingbacks and draped silhouettes, reflecting the collection’s free-spirited aesthetic. The interactive sand installation added a dynamic element, symbolizing the passage of time and complementing the fluidity of the garments.

3. Givenchy Women’s Fall – Winter 2023 Show: Givenchy’s Fall-Winter 2023 collection marked a shift towards fluidity and femininity, a departure from previous seasons’ harder-edged aesthetic. Strong-shouldered jackets and tulle-infused blazers created a juxtaposition of masculine and feminine energy, painting a portrait of a positively modern woman. The runway itself, reminiscent of a catwalk within the Palace of Versailles, added regal elegance to the collection, tying together historical inspiration with contemporary design.
4. Coperni Fall 2023 by Sébastien Meyer & Arnaud Vaillant: Coperni’s FW23 collection took a futuristic turn by incorporating Spot® robots from Boston Dynamics. Inspired by Jean de la Fontaine’s fable, the show portrayed a harmonious synergy between man and machine, envisioning a positive and utopian future. The choice of robotic models and the wooden parterre added a touch of innovation, pushing the boundaries of conventional runway presentations.
5. Undercover Spring – Summer 2024 Show: In an underground car park, Undercover’s SS24 collection emanated eerie and mysterious vibes. Mesh-covered suiting, pre-faded varsity jackets, and bedazzled spiders adorned the runway, creating a haunting yet captivating energy. The shattered and lit chandeliers wrapped in tulle, combined with graphic scarves on each seat, added layers of storytelling, defining the collection with a haunting and mysterious energy.
6. Jacquemus Fall-Winter 2023 Show: Set against the backdrop of the Palace of Versailles, Jacquemus’ Fall-Winter 2023 collection unfolded with coquette aesthetics. The show questioned the superlative and abundance, capturing the imperfection and randomness of the surroundings, offering a unique perspective on fashion’s creative process. The cherry-red runway and the boat-guided entrance for guests added a touch of theatricality, amplifying the regal inspiration drawn from Marie Antoinette and Princess Diana.
